In the 1880s, porcelain and earthenware was crafted and manufactured on the Polonsky estate, which later grew into "Keramik" artisan cooperative. Polonne was home to many porcelain factories and manufactures. Faience and Porcelain Polonne Factory was founded by M. Schapiro in 1889. Its production was quite varied, expanding into hygienical ceramics. The revolution and it's latter turmoil lead to the factory interrupting and resuming production many times, but Polonne continued its ceramical production, with many new technologies being introduced and developed in the 20th century. "Keramik" would grow into the Polonsky Factory of Artistic Ceramics (founded in 1956), producing millions of beautiful pieces annually. After Ukraine's independence, it was privatized but continued to thrive. Unfortunately, financial and economic issues, as well as tax inspection, bankrupted the factory in 2011. Their legacy persists in the Khmelnytsky Regional Museum. There are two factories in the area with similar names. First is ZHK Polonne (previously Artel Keramik). Then, there is Polonne Porcelain Factory. In the 1980s, it was merged with Dobryshev Porcelain Factory and now exists as Koral. ?
