An antique hand-colored engraving depicting a pangolin in its natural habitat. The work is executed in copperplate engraving technique, evident from the fine, crisp lines that convey the texture of the animal's scaly covering. The lower part of the sheet bears the inscription "LE PANGOLIN.", and in the upper corner – "Pl. 126.". The composition shows attention to detail: the landscape with rocks, vegetation, and palm trees in the background is meticulously rendered. The engraving shows signs of age, such as slight yellowing and small spots, confirming its antiquity. There are signs of trimming along the left edge. An excellent example of an antique zoological illustration, of interest to collectors.
