This piece is worked over the entire netting. There are scrolls, flowers, ribbons and a cherub in the center blowing a horn. It is an exquisite piece of work. This piece is delicate and there is some damage to it. There are holes and there is an 8" tear in the netting near the bottom all of which I have pictured. It needs washed but I have decided not to do it myself and will leave it up to the buyer. I also found 2 places where the solid cotton has pulled away as in picture #12. Exquisite collectors piece. This piece from the late 1800's is ecru in tone and is filled with hand turned flowers and leaves of bobbin lace. It measures approx. 50 X 17 in. and would be beautiful used as a runner or hanging as a valance on a window or doorway. The Victorians often used pieces like this as layover shams at the top of the bed. This piece is in excellent condition with one small pale spot which should soak out.
